POSITION:              Adult Education Part-Time Teaching Positions

LOCATION:      Adult Education Part-Time Teaching Positions

REPORTS TO:        Director of Adult Education

POSITION SUMMARY: The Adult Education Center in Hartford will operate its program from August 2023 through June 2024. Teachers provide classroom instruction in the Adult Education Center and/or satellite sites. Classes are offered in ESL and GED/ABE (English), ABE/GED (Spanish), NEDP and Citizenship. Hours range between 4 – 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday (a few classes meet on Saturday and/or Sunday at satellite locations). Classes meet at various locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess and maintain appropriate Connecticut certification, Adult Education Endorsement.
  • Experience with ABE, GED, NEDP, ESL and Citizenship programs. 

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Part-time hourly rate of $40, in accordance with the Hartford Public School System salary schedule. No paid holidays, vacation or paid sick leave during this scheduled program period.
