Title: Assistant Professor Respiratory Care
Job Summary
The Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for Respiratory Therapy is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction and related activities. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, serving on various committees, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations. The Assistant Professor and DCE for Respiratory Therapy is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during assigned times. The duties will be performed at the Jackson campus, but will include travel to affiliate laboratories as needed. The Assistant Professor and DCE for Respiratory Therapy will operate under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Therapist Program Director and the Dean of the School of Healthcare Professions and in cooperation with other stakeholders. Other stakeholders include the RCT Advisory Committee, Jackson State Community College, and all relevant accrediting bodies. Course release will be implemented in order to allow time for added duties of the role of Director of Clinical Education.
Job Duties
• Prepares and delivers lectures on topics for RCT classes in the Respiratory Care program, as assigned.
• Compiles, administers, evaluates, and grades students' class work, assignments, tests, and papers; keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.
• Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts for both didactic and laboratory sections of their assigned courses.
• Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies. Faculty are expected to provide academic advising to students and participate in college, department and community activities related to the College’s mission. The EMS Education instructor works under the supervision of the Director of EMS Education. The instructor participates in the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of program curriculum. Job Duties:
Teach 38-42 hours per year via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses as required. Develop curriculum, evaluate and review of credit and non-credit courses. Evaluate and monitor progress to achieve goals and objectives (and those by any licensing, registering or certifying agency as applicable); assist with affiliation and accreditation efforts. Recruit and advise students and support persistence/progression through graduation. Maintain office hours and availability to students. Complete required College trainings. Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum of two years practicing in the pre-hospital environment. Minimum of two years EMS education administration or minimum of 300 hours EMS instruction. Currently endorsed in an EMS Board approved trauma, cardiac, and pediatric course. Must meet requirements established by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation from Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP), and the Tennessee Department of Health/Office of EMS. Completion of an EMS Board approved instructors’ course. Must be licensed or eligible for Paramedic licensure in Tennessee; Paramedic licensure must be free from revocation, denial, or suspension.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Nursing with active license in Tennessee as a Registered Nurse (RN) Three (3) years’ clinical nursing experience in a hospital and/or long-term nursing facility

Job Summary
• The candidate is responsible for teaching all phases of the program including all eight areas of ASE certification for cars and light trucks: electrical and electronic systems, heating and air conditioning, engine performance, engine repair, brakes, suspension and steering, manual drive train, and axle/auto transaxle. • Develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aids. Other duties include curriculum development and updates, student record keeping, student recruitment, placement, and follow-up. • Monitors conduct, safety, and discipline during training. • Assist with placement of students in the workforce. • Participate in recruiting and evaluating students for the Automotive Technology program. • Participate in professional development activities, including cooperating with outside agencies. Continue personal training and professional development to stay abreast of changes in the automotive industry. • Must maintain an active advisory committee and communicate with business and industry on a regular basis. • Must monitor and evaluate student progress; accurately maintain program and student records. • Other duties as assigned. 
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma (or equivalent) and a post-secondary credential in Automotive Service Technology. • Current ASE Service Technician Certifications required: ASE Auto Maintenance &amp; Light Repair (G1), Suspension &amp; Steering (A4), Brakes (A5), and Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6). • Ability to obtain Master ASE Certification required. Master ASE credentials in all areas of cars and light trucks will be required within 18 months of hire. • Minimum of 3 years of current experience in the field.
